At an elevation of 1,951.5 ft (595 m), Timm's Hill is the highest natural point in the state of Wisconsin. On top of the hill is an observation tower that has a scenic view of the Northwoods. Rib Mountain, which was once thought of as the highest point, can be seen when looking southeast on the tower. The observation tower is a perfect and popular place to view the beautiful fall colors.
The Timm's Hill County Park is a perfect location for great hiking trails that can also be utilized for a vigorous run or bike ride or in the winter, snowshoeing and XC skiing. With Bass Lake as part of the park, a boat landing is available as well as a swimming area. A pavilion, with electricity, is available to rent. Otherwise there are grills and picnic tables. The park also has specific trails for horses.
The Timm's Hill Trail is a hilly 10 mile trail that is not authorized for motor vehicles. Open year round this trail is used for hiking, biking, running, snowshoeing, and XC skiing. The southern 2 1/2 miles of the trail are only open from January 1st through August 31st. Please follow Hwy C from September 1st through December 31st. Horseback riding is permitted May 1st through November 15th.
As part of the Ogema Christmas Tree festival, held this year on September 29th, 2018, the Run to the Peak kicks off the parade. The race covers a distance of 8.5 miles (mostly hills), starting at the Ogema Baptist Church and ending at Timm's Hill County Park. If interested in partaking in this event, please fill out and submit the form below. A registration fee of $12 will be due at the start of the race. Race time is 11:00 AM.
Park gate opens at 7:30 AM and closes 9:30 PM, approximately May through October. The park can be accessible on foot November through April during the same hours.
